Malaysia is committed to lifelong learning by developing learning cities, promoting personal growth, social inclusion, cultural prosperity, and sustainable development. Lifelong learning in Malaysia targets individuals aged 15 to 64, governed by various committees and the Lifelong Learning National Committee. Key learning cities include Petaling Jaya (PJ), recognized by UNESCO for its educational initiatives; Kuala Lumpur (KL), known for its creative and cultural projects; and Putrajaya, which features neighborhood learning centres, public sports facilities, and green spaces. These cities utilize resources across sectors to support inclusive learning and foster a culture of lifelong learning. Malaysia’s approach integrates educational opportunities into urban planning, contributing to sustainable development and social cohesion.
